I’m pretty sure everyone has heard about the plane crashing into the IRS building in Texas yesterday. This article grabbed my attention in an instant because I lived in Texas until I was 16. But Andrew Joseph “Joe” Stack III, the pilot, not only flew into the building but also burned his own house before he did. Now … why would anyone do that?! many of the articles say he had negative feelings toward the IRS but I don’t understand why he would burn his house.
His wife and friends stated that they new nothing about the situation and that Stack did not show any signs of hate or distress. They said that he seemed like that, even the members of the band he was playing in.
I feel like this article is definitely telling the truth but maybe is trying to cover up at least a little of what has actually happened, or at least minimize the media attention it is getting. Especially with the family and friends coming out and speaking to the media. The spokesperson, family and friends just seem like they are trying to get extra support and pity… not that that is always a bad thing.

This article is interesting because there did not seem to be a clear motive for Andrew’s actions or a sign that he would do commit such an act. No one really likes the IRS but I’m wondering if it was necessary for him to deal with them in the manner he chose. After hearing a story like this it makes you really think about the people around you and hope that anyone who seems normal is not thinking of crashing a plane into a building. On the other hand, it is fortunate that the workers were well trained in their emergency exit planned which is probably why the death and hospitalization toll is so low. I wonder what the findings will be at the end of the case.

I really enjoyed this article. I thought the information was presented very well! It kept me reading when the family members were completely shocked of Mr. Stack’s actions. The journalist did a great job in finding out that it was the pilot’s intentions instead of the FAA’s. Lately there has been a lot of blame on the FAA for the plane crashes when it’s not always their doing. I appreciated this article and found it really intriguing. I also couldn’t believe that he burned his own house down. I am excited to read more about this and the real story behind it.
